Welcome to BiblioTech – the podcast about emerging technologies for academics. Your host is Rochelle Mazar, an emerging technologies librarian at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
Every month you can listen in as Rochelle talks about what’s new in technology and what academics should be paying attention to. It’s hard to keep up all of the new software, tools and gadgets. That’s where Rochelle comes in.

Thank you for an illuminating and provocative podcast
One issue that I face in using digital course readings is a very practical one: how can I ensure that students will bring the readings to class if I want everyone to do a close reading of a passage? I’ve resorted to selecting some long quotations on PowerPoint slides, but this limits improvisation in the classroom.
Suggestions?
Welll….if the readings are online, they should be able to access them through computers/phones/ipads, right? Do your students bring these things to class? Otherwise they could print them out, but that’s much less green. On my campus, we have more devices on campus than bodies; I’m sure the same is true at your place!
