Welcome to the Dean’s Podcast – the podcast about issues shaping graduate studies in Canada.

In this episode, host Carolyn Watters, Dalhousie University dean of graduate studies, and 2009 Canadian Association of Graduate Studies president, talks to John ApSimon, interim executive director, Ontario Council on Graduate Studies. Together, they discuss quality assurance in graduate programs at Ontario universities as well as upcoming changes to the quality assurance process at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Finally, they discuss whether a national quality assurance framework for graduate programs in Canada is either feasible or even desirable. (Running time 17:33).
