Patricia (Trish) Monture, a lawyer, full professor in the sociology department and academic coordinator of the aboriginal justice and criminology program at the University of Saskatchewan, died of cancer on Nov. 17, 2010, at the age of 52. Read a recent Globe & Mail article on Patricia Monture.
A Mohawk from the Six Nations Grand River Territory, Professor Monture was an inspiration to all and a mentor to many in the academy, say her colleagues and family.
