Wilfrid Laurier University has appointed Jason Coolman its new vice-president, advancement and external relations, effective Aug. 6. Dr. Coolman is currently the associate vice-president, development and alumni relations, at the University of Waterloo, where he was recently awarded the university’s Athletics Community Service Award.

York University alumna Yemisi Dina will be the new chief law librarian at York University’s Osgoode Hall. She had been serving as interim chief law librarian. She holds a master of public policy, administration and law degree from York University as well as a master of library and information science degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Bishop’s University has confirmed that Melissa Poirier will continue in her role as Indigenous student support and community liaison on a permanent basis. Ms. Poirier started in this role on a contractual basis in 2017. This appointment allows her to further develop the university’s relationship with their Indigenous students.

Scott Duguay became Acadia University’s first vice-provost, students, recruitment and enrolment management, effective July 1. This newly created position comes after a review of Acadia’s academic and student support services. Mr. Duguay was previously associate vice-president, enrolment management, for St. Thomas University, and director of enrolment management at Bishop’s University before that.
