The Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal (UdeM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor) to join its dynamic team of the physiotherapy programs in the School of Rehabilitation.

The successful applicant will work with a team of scholars committed to the development of physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences. We welcome candidates who demonstrate interests for the principal domains of intervention in physiotherapy and can contribute to the advancement of the profession of physiotherapy through their research.

As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of your School of rehabilitation…

…through your teaching and your research activities. You will also ensure the visibility of your discipline in addition to actively participate in the operation of a renowned institution. As such, you will:

  • Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in physiotherapy and in rehabilitation sciences;
  • Teach and supervise graduate students in rehabilitation sciences;
  • Pursue successful research and knowledge mobilization activities in a field of expertise linked to physiotherapy or rehabilitation;
  • Participate in the functioning and strategic development of physiotherapy programs;
  • Contribute to scientific and professional activities and the programs’ academic committees and services.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Hold or be eligible for a permit from the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec as a physiotherapist;
  • Hold a doctorate (Ph.D.) in a field related to physiotherapy or in a relevant discipline;
  • Have experience as an independent researcher or postdoctoral research training;
  • Have university-level teaching experience or clinical practice experience in physiotherapy;
  • Propose a promising research program in physiotherapy or a related field complimentary to those of other professors of the School of rehabilitation;
  • Have an excellent publication record considering your stage of career;
  • An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. An institutional learning support program is offered to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication skills.
